Ramakrishna Mission Imphal : COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Services


Ramakrishna Mission Imphal has been able to serve 4015 underprivileged families, benefitting 18247 individuals, from various ethnic backgrounds, covering 44 Villages/Leikais across 5 districts of Manipur from 20 April to 31 May 2020.

The centre distributed Ration and Hygiene Kits, consisting of 4 Kgs rice, 1 Kg Dal, 1/2 litre edible oil and 250 gms soyabean nuggets and 2 nos. bathing soap bars, a washing powder packet & a tooth paste, to 299 underprivileged families, from Moidangpok Maning & Aheibam Leikai, Patsoi, Imphal West, 31 May 2020.

On 17 May 2020, the centre distributed ration kits to 749 families, at 3 places under Thanga A/c, Bishnupur District, around 75 Kms away from Imphal,  275 families from Nongmaikhong Awang & Makha Leikais, at Hiyanglek Community Hall, 218 families at Khordak, and 256 families from Ithing Khunjao, Heikol & Takmu villages at Ithing Community Hall.

On 15 May 2020, the centre distributed ration kits at 2 places in Ningthoukhong, Bishnupur District. A total of 293 families, 155 families at Ward No 6, Kha Leikai and 138 families at Kha Mamang Leikai were each provided with Food Ration packets and Hygiene Kits. On this occasion, the beneficiary children of our Gadadhara Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP) units, at Kha Mamang Leikai, were also provided with their monthly provision of Toiletry Kits, due for the months of April & May, 2020, containing 2 Nos each of Bathing Soap, Hand Wash Soap, Washing Powder packet, Tooth Paste & Hair Oil.

On 14 May 2020, the centre distributed ration kits in 2 places of Kakching District, around 40 Kms away from Imphal. A total of 352 poor & needy families, 290 families at Lamjao Makha Leikai, Langmeidong Block and 62 families at Kakching Turel Wangma, Water Supply Maning, were provided with relief items.

On  13 May 2020, the centre distributed ration kits to 153 poor & needy families at Tera Tongbram Leikai, Imphal West. The beneficiaries were selected with help from members of Tera Tongbram Leikai Youth Forum.

On 12 May 2020, the centre distributed ration kits in Wunghon Upper Primary School, District Ukhrul, around 25 Kms away from Imphal for 203 families from 4 villages, namely, Muirei, Leiyaram, Wunghon and Mayophung, under Ukhrul Block. Selection of the beneficiary families & distribution of items were done with the assistance from the Tangkhul Naga Foothills Organisation (TNFO).

On 08 May 2020, the centre distributed food rations & toiletry items to 301 poor & needy families from 10 villages, namely, Ngoubikhong, S. Elimphal, B. Geljang, Molnoi (Seijaland), Keihao, Bongbalkholen, KA-MU, Saichang, Sada Lungthar and Heinganglok Villages, at Holton Vaiphei, Near Phowaibi, P.S: Yairipok, Sub Div: Island, Dist: Kangpokpi, around 31 km away from Imphal.

On 24 April 2020,  the Imphal ashrama ditributed Dry Food Ration Kits and Hygiene Kits to 53 families from Ngangom Leikai and Singjamei areas in Imphal.

On 23 April 2020, the Imphal ashrama ditributed Dry Food Ration Kits and Hygiene Kits to 279 families  at Haobam Marak Irom Leikai in Imphal.

Each ration kit contains 5 kg rice, 1 kg Dal, 1/2 litre edible oil and 250 gms soyabean nuggets & Hygiene Kits consisting of 2 pcs of Bathing Soap Bars and a 90 gm pkt. of washing powder. To avoid public gathering in the densely populated area, the said items were provided at the door steps of the selected beneficiaries with the help of local volunteers.

The Ramakrishna Mission, Babupara, Imphal, conducted a Covid-19 lockdown relief camp on 20 April 2020, at Seloi Village under Upper Charhazare, Kangpokpi District, at about 45 km from Imphal. 378 poor and needy families belonging to Nepali and Tribal communities from Seloi, T. Zalenphai, L. Gamngai, K. Gamnomphai, Upper Charhazare & Seloi Villages were provided with Dry Food Ration Kits consisting of 5 Kgs rice, 1 kg Dal, 1 kg salt, 1-litre edible oil and 250 gms soyabean nuggets.
