Flood Relief
KERALA
Our centres continued relief operations among the families affected by the devastating floods that had hit the state in the month of August. In response to the grim situation, our Coimbatore Math, Coimbatore Mission, Haripad, Kalady, Kayamkulam, Kochi, Koyilandy, Kozhikode, Pala, Thrissur and Tiruvalla centres conducted primary flood relief services by distributing 158 tons of dry food materials, 67,332 garments, 6785 utensil sets, 11.15 lakh assorted educational materials along with other necessary items such as bedsheets, towels, mats, school bags and umbrellas among 23,559 flood-affected families and 49,676 students in Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kannur, Kottayam, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, Thrissur and Wayanad districts.

UTTAR PRADESH
 Our Lucknow centre continued its flood relief services in Gonda and Ayodhya districts by way of distributing 1250 kg rice, 1250 kg flour, 500 kg dal, 1250 kg potato, 250 kg salt, 902 saris, 860 lungis, 530 mosquito-nets and 100 matchboxes among 816 flood-affected families from 13 to 21 September.
CYCLONE RELIEF
 Odisha: A very severe Cyclonic Storm ‘Titli’ hit the coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha on 11 October. In response to the calamity, Bhubaneswar centre distributed 600 saris, 600 dhotis, 600 shirts, 300 trousers, 600 towels, 300 mosquito-nets and 1500 packets of biscuits among 300 families in 12 remote villages of Gajapati district on 20 and 21 October. Visakhapatnam centre is distributing blankets and boat repair materials among poor fisherman families in Srikakulam district. Further reports are awaited.
DISTRESS RELIEF
 To extend a helping hand to poor and needy people, 19 of our centres in different parts of the country have distributed: 3434 kg rice, 1180 kg flour, 407 kg dal, 750 kg suji (semolina), 10 packets of cake, 1157 kg edible oil, 215 kg salt, 857 kg sugar, 21 kg tea leaves, 43 kg milk powder, 215 packets of turmeric powder, 100 packets of biscuits, 7784 saris, 1445 dhotis, 200 uttariyas, 66 shirts, 1174 children’s garments, 215 bars of bathing soap and 215 packets of washing powder among poor and needy people during October.
