Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Guwahati, marked Sri Ramakrishna’s birthday with a vibrant two-day program, blending spiritual reflection with community service.
Day One: Devotees Convention (March 8th, 2025)
A Bhakta Sammelan brought together 265 devotees for an immersive spiritual experience. Speakers, including Swami Shivapradananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Purulia and Swami Vishwatmananda, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Advaita Ashrama, Varanasi, explored the essence of Sri Ramakrishna’s teachings and the legacy of Swami Vivekananda. The day was filled with chanting, devotional music, and meditative practices.
Day Two: Public Discourse and Community Support (March 9th, 2025)
The Ashrama’s auditorium hosted a public meeting, a platform for profound philosophical discussions. Dr. Pranati Devi, Retd. HOD , Dept of Philosophy, B Barooah College, Guwahati, illuminated Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy, while Swami Shivapradananda spoke on Sri Sarada Devi. Swami Vishwatmananda, presiding over the meeting, shared insights into Sri Ramakrishna’s teachings.
130 books “Mor Bharat Amar Bharat” in Assamese language and Calender-2025 (published by Guwahati Ashrama) were distributed among the audience.
Beyond words, the Ashrama extended practical support to the community. 12 sewing machines and 18 Tantsaals were distributed to empower women, and scholarships were granted to 16 deserving students.
The event culminated in a musical offering and expressions of gratitude, leaving attendees with a renewed sense of purpose and connection.
