COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Services, Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre, Lusaka, Zambia


In continuation to the COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Services Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre, Lusaka supported 60 families in Sep 2020. The families received ration kit consisting of  10 kg Mealimeal (Maize powder), 1 kg Sugar, 500 gm Salt, 750 ml Cooking Oil, 1 Biscuit packet and 400 gm Washing Powder. As on 29 Sep 2020, 14660 are declared Corona +ve and 332 Corona deaths in Zambia.

The centre supported 55 families in August 2020. The families received ration kit consisting of  10 kg Mealimeal (Maize powder), 1 kg Sugar, 500 gm Salt, 750 ml Cooking Oil, 1 Biscuit packet and 400 gm Washing Powder. As on 20 May 2020, 9981 are declared Corona +ve and 264 Corona deaths in Zambia.

The centre supported 50 poor and needy families from 13 to 20 May 2020. Each of the 50 families received 25 kg Mealimeal (Maize powder), 2 kg Sugar, 500 gm Salt, 750 ml Cooking Oil and 3 Soap bars. As on 20 May 2020, 832 are declared Corona +ve and 7 Corona deaths in Zambia.

The centre supported 50 jobless families from 25 to 28 April 2020. Each of the 50 families received the following: 25 kg Mealimeal (Maize powder), 2 kg Sugar, 500 gm Salt, 750 ml Cooking Oil and 3 Soaps.

Till date 95 are declared Corona +ve and there are three Corona deaths in Zambia. There is no official Lockdown yet but the economy is going down and people are in distress in this poor country.

In response to the appeal of the Epilepsy Association of Zambia,  Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre, Lusaka, has handed over 200 bottles of hand sanitiser to them on 7 April 2020.
