Ramakrishna Mission, Somsar, responded to the flood situation in West Bengal by conducting two relief operations on September 22 and 25, 2024.
Operation 1: Shyampur, Hooghly District
In Shyampur, under Pursura police station, essential supplies were distributed to 400 affected individuals. The relief package included:
- 500 water bottles
- 300 packets of muri (puffed rice)
- 300 packets of chanachur (spicy snack)
- 100 packets of badam (almonds)
- 100 packets of cheera bhaja (fried puffed rice)
- 300 packets of biscuits
- 300 packets of cakes
Operation 2: Radhamohanpur, Bankura District
In Radhamohanpur, under Sonamukhi police station, relief was provided to 27 families. Each family received:
- 5 kg rice
- 500 grams musur dal (lentil)
- 200 grams salt
- 200 grams soybean
- 1 kg flour
- 500 grams cheera (puffed rice)
- 200 grams molasses
- 500 grams mustard oil
- 500 grams sugar
- 1 large packet of biscuits
- 100 grams tea
- 100 grams Amul milk
- 10 chocolate bars
- 1 candle
- 1 matchbox
- 1 mosquito coil
- 2 liters of drinking water
