Flood Relief: Hyderabad, September 2024

Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad


Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad, responded to the devastating floods caused by heavy rains and flash floods in the Munneru Stream in Khammam Town and surrounding villages of Telangana State. The Math conducted relief efforts in two phases, on September 10 and 24, 2024, to assist affected families.

A total of 1,015 families received relief kits, each valued at approximately Rs. 2,500. These kits contained essential items, including:

  • 25 kg rice
  • 2 liters cooking oil
  • 1 kg toordal (pigeon pea lentil)
  • 1 kg sugar
  • 100 grams tea powder
  • 2 Santoor bath soaps
  • 3 Rin soaps
  • 1 kg washing powder
  • 50 grams chili powder
  • 50 grams turmeric powder
  • 1 kg salt
  • 1 kg atta (wheat flour)
  • 1 bed sheet
  • 1 blanket or 2 utensils with 2 covering lids
  • 1 bucket
  • 1 mug
