Srimat Swami Smarananandaji, the Most Revered President Maharaj, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, visited Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jhargram from 6th to 8th December 2019. Ever since the inception of the Ashrama in Jhargram on 20th August 2017, Revered Maharaj has, time and again, expressed his holy wish of visiting this branch centre of the Ramakrishna Mission. Accordingly, on 6th December 2019 Revered Maharaj arrived in Jhargram.
It is worth mentioning that in January 2016, at the behest of the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the Govt. of West Bengal, the Ramakrishna Mission has adopted the management and administration of the Eklavya Model Residential School in Jhargram. Centreing this very School, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jhargram has come up in August 2017.
On his arrival, Revered Maharaj has been offered with the Purna Kumbha reception by the Ashrama monastics, devotees, teachers and admirers. The District Magistrate of Jhargram Smt. Ayesha Rani, herself received Revered Maharaj on his coming to the new district of Jhargram. In the afternoon Revered Maharaj visited the Krishi Garden at Jhargram.
The 7th of December 2019 was the very day when Revered Maharaj inaugurated the newly constructed Assembly cum Prayer Hall in the new campus of the Ashrama. Sri Shuvendu Adhikari, Hon’ble Minister-In-Charge, Transport, Irrigation and Waterways, Govt. of West Bengal, Dr. Sukumar Hansda, Deputy Speaker, West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Sri S. K. Patwari, the Group Chairman, Rashmi Group, The District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police, Jhargram, along with many other distinguished guests and dignitaries, graced the occasion with their presence. From Belur Math and different centres of West Bengal and Jhargram, 62 monastics have blessed the function with their presence and involvement. The State and District Administration, Jhargram Municipality, Police Administration, Press, Media extended all supports for the grand success of the occasion.
Spiritual aspirants from the local areas of Jhargram have been blessed with the spiritual initiation from Revered Maharaj on 8th December. In the afternoon, Revered Maharaj paid a holy visit to the School presently known as Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira (Eklavya Model Residential School), Jhargram. The students, teachers and the entire Vidyamandira family received Revered Maharaj offering Traditional Adivasi reception with the playing of Dhamsa, Madol in the background.
Revered Maharaj, having visited the entire School, kindly bestowed his choicest blessings on this institution saying, “I am immensely satisfied by the way this institution has come up. It’s a wonderful job – well done and I appreciate the way it has been done. I convey my blessings to all those who are associated with this. I pray to Sri Sri Thakur, Sri Sri Ma and Swamiji Maharaj for their blessings on the institution for its progress….”
The holy visit of the Most Revered President Maharaj will surely keep on inspiring the entire Ashrama family in going ahead for the success of all its ensuing endeavours for the benefits of the people of Jungle Mahal.
