Sri Ramakrishna addressed Girish all of a sudden before anybody had spoken a word and said, “Girish, you, I find, say to one and all everywhere so many things about me (that I am an incarnation of God), what have you seen and understood (about me) that you do so?” Girish remained completely unmoved and, kneeling down on the ground near Sri Ramakrishna’s feet, said in a choked voice with his hands folded and face turned upwards, “What more can I say of Him, whose greatness Vyasa and Valmiki could not find words to express?” Sri Ramakrishna was charmed at this fervent utterance of the devoted Girish and blessed all the devotees assembled there through their representative, Girish:
What more shall I say to you? May you all be blessed with the spiritual awakening.
Beside himself with love and compassion for the devotees, hardly had he said those few words when he entered into Bhavasamadhi. Those words of profound blessing, untouched by the slightest tinge of selfishness, directly entered the devotees’ hearts where they raised high billows of bliss.

কেহ কোন কথা কহিবার পূর্বেই ঠাকুর সহসা গিরিশচন্দ্রকে সম্বোধন করিয়া বলিলেন, “গিরিশ, তুমি যে সকলকে এত কথা (আমার অবতারত্ব সম্বন্ধে) বলিয়া বেড়াও, তুমি (আমার সম্বন্ধে) কি দেখিয়াছ ও বুঝিয়াছ ?” গিরিশ উহাতে বিন্দুমাত্র বিচলিত না হইয়া তাঁহার পদপ্রান্তে ভূমিতে জানু সংলগ্ন করিয়া উপবিষ্ট হইয়া ঊর্দ্ধমুখে করজোড়ে গদ্গদ স্বরে বলিয়া উঠিল, “ব্যাসবাল্মীকি যাহার ইয়ত্তা করিতে পারেন নাই, আমি তাঁহার সম্বন্ধে অধিক কি আর বলিতে পারি।” গিরিশের অন্তরের সরল বিশ্বাস প্রতি কথায় ব্যক্ত হওয়ায় ঠাকুর মুগ্ধ হইলেন এবং তাহাকে উপলক্ষ করিয়া সমবেত ভক্তগণকে বলিলেন,
তোমাদের কি আর বলিব, আশীর্বাদ করি তোমাদের চৈতন্য হউক।
ভক্তগণের প্রতি প্রেম ও করুণায় আত্মহারা হইয়া তিনি ঐ কথাগুলি মাত্র বলিয়াই ভাবাবিষ্ট হইয়া পড়িলেন। স্বার্থগন্ধহীন তাঁহার সেই গভীর আশীর্বাণী প্রত্যেকের অন্তরে প্রবল আঘাত প্রদানপূর্বক আনন্দস্পন্দনে উদ্বেল করিয়া তুলিল।
