Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai conducted various competitions for Polytechnic College and High School students from institutions in and around of Chennai district on the occasion of National Youth Day 2020 on 8 and 10 January 2020 respectively.
Polytechnic College
216 students from 19 Polytechnic Colleges participated in the various competitions like Tamil oratory, English oratory, essay writing in English and Tamil and Drawing on the forenoon of 10 January 2020 and prizes were distributed in the afternoon. Cash prize were given to the top three in each category. Trophies were given to the winners and runners in sports events.
High School
To disseminate the teachings of Swami Vivekananda various competitions were held amongst the High School students in Chennai Central District area on 8 January 2020. The participants in the competitions – drawing – 81 participants; oratorical – 50 participants; recitation – 68 participants. A total of 199 students from 19 schools along with 27 teachers. 11 teachers from other schools were invited as judges for the competitions. Overall 45 students were adjudged as winners and were honoured in the meeting on 10 January 2020 at the Student’s Home.
