Ramakrishna Math, Madurai, celebrated National Youth Day on 12th January 2023. In the morning at 6.33 am, the exact time of birth of Swami Vivekananda, Arati was performed with the blowing of Conch shells and chanting of prayers in front of the beautifully decorated Swami Vivekananda’s statue near the Math campus.
A Youth Convention was organized where 14 institutions were invited to participate on National Youth Day. 1140 ( Higher secondary and college) students participated in that event. Swami Kamalatmananda delivered the keynote address on the occasion. Other speakers highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s life and his teachings. The centre distributed a Tamil book – “Veera ilaignargalukku” (For Heroic youth) to the participating students.
