Flood Relief


In response to flooding in the Katihar district, Katihar centre distributed 4000 kg chira and 500 kg gur among 1333 families from 27 September to 18 October.

Cyclone Relief


West Bengal

The cyclone ‘Bulbul’ made its landfall at the southern part of Sagar Island on 9 November and damaged many houses, uprooted trees, snapped cables and destroyed standing crops in North and South 24 Parganas, and Medinipur districts. Later, the cyclone crossed over to Bangladesh. The following centres conducted primary relief services:


Our Manasadwip centre was badly affected by the cyclone as 500ft of its boundary wall fell down, many trees were uprooted and asbestos sheet roofs were blown away. The centre provided shelter to 230 persons at the Ashrama on 9 November and served 7522 plates of cooked food among 7522 persons at the Ashrama from 10 to 12 November. Rehabilitation work is under progress.


Our Sarisha centre distributed 23,360 kg rice, 5490 kg dal, 7100 kg potato, 1398 kg cooking oil, 1978 blankets, 3000 saris, 800 dhotis, 1800 lungis and 800 uttariyas among 1996 affected families in South 24 Parganas district from 18 to 21 November.


Our Taki centre distributed 2000 kg chira, 750 kg sugar, 4032 packets of biscuits and 2160 candles among 2412 cyclone affected persons in North 24 Parganas district from 12 to 17 November.



Our Bagerhat centre distributed 1000 kg rice, 100 saris and 100 lungis among 100 families in Satkhira district on 15 November.

Rahara centre distributed a tricycle, 3 wheelchairs and 6 walking sticks among differently-abled people from 22 September to 27 November.

Winter Relief

This year, 54,354 blankets and 1,36,990 winter garments are being distributed among the poor and needy people, through 112 of our branch centres in different parts of the country.

To extend a helping hand to poor and needy people, 23 of our centres distributed 15,228 shirts/T-shirts, pieces of cloth for 15,260 shirts, 1518 T-shirts, 12,129 trousers, 535 dhotis, 14 lungis, 2361 saris, 6 ladies’ garments, 525 undershirts, 3 towels, 100 mosquito-nets, 1 cooker, 6 cooking vessels, 6 buckets, 6 ladles, 100 kg powdered maize, 440 kg rice, 440 kg flour, 110 kg dal, 110 kg cooking oil, 220 kg salt, 110 kg sugar, 22 kg tea leaves, 44 kg milk powder, 220 packets of turmeric powder, 220 bars of bathing soap, 118 bedsheets, 118 buckets, 118 mugs and 450 concrete blocks etc. among the poor and needy people.
