Flood Relief
India
(a) West Bengal:
Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling centres distributed 43 kg dal (lentils), 143 kg potatoes, 30 kg soybeans, 200 kg assorted spices, 243 kg mustard oil, 300 packets of biscuits, 2800 dhotis, 4600 saris, 300 kg bleaching powder, 375 kg lime, 700 educational kits (each kit consisting of four notebooks, a pen, an eraser and a pencil) and 300 packets of candles among 1893 flood-affected families in North Dinajpur district from 1 to 24 September.
(b) Uttar Pradesh:Â
Lucknow centre distributed 375 kg salt, 2316 saris, 1750 tops, 6211 trousers, 4185 shirts, 5405 children’s garments, 603 mosquito-nets, 8 kg chlorine tablets, 6888 candles, and a tarpaulin among 4708 flood-affected families of 87 villages in Gonda, Barabanki, Balarampur, Basti and Faizabad districts from 29 August to 25 September.
(c) Bihar: Muzaffarpur centre served 2500 plates of cooked food and distributed 1500 kg chira (rice flakes) and 400 kg gur (molasses) among 3285 flood-affected persons in Minapur and Mushahari blocks of Muzaffarpur district from 26 August to 27 September.
Bangladesh
Dhaka centre distributed 600 kg suji (semolina), 600 kg flour, 600 litres of edible oil, 600 kg sugar, 600 saris, 400 lungis and 200 dhotis among 600 families of Sunamganj, Kurigram and Netrakona districts on 22 September and 4 and 6 October respectively.
Distress Relief
The following centres distributed various items, as shown against their names, to needy people:
India:
- Bamunmura: 199 saris, 70 dhotis, 31 children’s garments, 12 frocks and 150 mosquito-nets from 1 to 26 September.
- Baranagar Math: 100 saris and 50 dhotis on 19 September.
- Barasat: 477 saris, 58 dhotis and 12 children’s garments from 17 to 26 September.
- Barisha: 100 saris and 100 dhotis on 26 September.
- Coimbatore Mission: 1561 shirts, 1539 trousers and 1261 tops from 15 to 23 October.
- Gurap: 216 saris, 54 dhotis and 31 garments from 19 September to 6 October.
- Patna: 2069 shirts and 2378 trousers from 22 August to 17 September.
- Saradapitha: 3419 shirts, 3463 trousers, 700 saris and 350 children’s garments from 30 July to 25 September.
- Silchar: 6104 shirts, 5939 trousers, 2610 saris, 587 dhotis and 125 frocks from 23 July to 14Â October.
- Tiruvalla: 450 kg rice, 45 kg dal, 90 kg sugar, 45 kg edible oil and 22 kg coffee powder on 2Â September.
Bangladesh:
- Baliati: 205 saris, 20 dhotis and 50 lungis in September.
- Chittagong: 3000 kg rice, 300 kg dal, 200 saris, 100 children’s dresses and cooked food to 500 families from 15 to 25 September.
- Dinajpur: 1198 saris in the month of September.
Rohingya Refugee ReliefÂ
Our centres in Bangladesh jointly handed over 5 tons of rice, 1000 blankets and 500 lungis to the district authorities of Bandarban Hill Tract on 4 October for distribution among the refugees. Further, the centres distributed 10 bags of rice and 170 blankets among 150 refugee families at Kutipalang, Cox’s Bazar, on 9 October.
Distress Rehabilitation
Bamunmura centre built a house for a needy family staying near the Ashrama. The house was handed over to the family on 16 September.
Winter Relief
The following centres distributed various winter items, as shown against their names, to needy people:
- Cossipore: 300 blankets from 10 to 19 September.
- Khetri: 55 blankets on 22 October.
- Patna: 569 sweatshirts, 1961 sweaters and 2031 jackets from 22 August to 17 September.
