1. Welfare and Distress Relief

During the month of December 2025, the Ramakrishna Centre of South Africa, Phoenix and its Johannesburg Sub-Centre conducted extensive relief operations to support underprivileged communities. A total of 310 families in the Phoenix and Johannesburg areas received essential supplies.

Total Quantities Distributed:

  • Grains & Staples: Rice [1860 kg], Maize Meal [232.5 kg], Wheat Flour [37.5 kg], and Pasta [26 kg].
  • Protein & Vegetables: Pulses [300 kg], Assorted Vegetables [1100 kg], Soya Chunks [25 kg], and Tinned Food [620 cans].
  • Dairy & Liquids: Milk [473 Ltrs], Flavoured Milk [158 Ltrs], Fruit Juice [85 Ltrs], and Cooking Oil [325 Ltrs].
  • Essentials: Sugar [195 kg], Salt [250 kg], and Tea Bags [6800 nos].
  • Prepared Foods: Cooked Meals [600 nos], Loaves of Bread [223 nos], Biscuits [1510 pkts], and Snacks [142 kg].
  • Hygiene & Household: Sanitary Pads [320 nos], Bathing Soap [88 bars], Toothbrushes [60 nos], Blankets [13 nos], and Adult Napkins [180 nos].

2. Medical Relief Services

The Centre continued its dedicated healthcare services through its medical wing, the Ramakrishna Clinic of South Africa.

  • General Consultations: A total of 2,176 consultations were held at the Phoenix Clinic premises throughout the month.
  • Special Medical Camp (December 16, 2025): A specialized medical camp was conducted at the Ramakrishna Mzamo Home in Verulam, Durban—a facility dedicated to children with cerebral palsy.
    • A team of 7 medical professionals, including medical practitioners, a dental surgeon, and a physiotherapist, volunteered their expertise.
    • 34 resident children were examined and treated.
    • All medical services and treatments were provided entirely free of charge.

Summary of Impact

Through these integrated relief efforts, the Ramakrishna Centre of South Africa provided vital food security to over 300 families and essential medical care to more than 2,200 individuals, continuing its mission of service to humanity.
