Ramakrishna Math, Puri, conducted a series of medical camps focused on eye health from November 3 to November 5, 2025. These camps were organized both at the Math campus and across three schools within the Puri block to ensure wide-reaching community support.
Camp Statistics:
- Student Screenings: 634 students from local schools were examined for vision issues.
- Community Outreach: 86 local underprivileged individuals were screened at the Math campus.
- Medical Support: All participants identified with minor ailments received free medicines on the spot.
2. Follow-up: Spectacle Distribution
Following the comprehensive screenings, the Math provided essential corrective support to those diagnosed with refractive errors. Between the conclusion of the camps and December 18, 2025, the following relief was rendered:
- Item Distributed: High-quality spectacles.
- Total Quantity: 54 pairs.
- Beneficiaries: Poor and needy students and local residents identified as patients during the November screening camps.
- Cost: All spectacles were provided entirely free of cost.
Summary of Impact
By integrating school-based screenings with campus-led community service, Ramakrishna Math, Puri, successfully addressed the vision needs of 720 individuals. The distribution of 54 free spectacles ensures that students can pursue their education without the hindrance of poor vision and that elderly residents regain their independence.
