At the very birthplace of Adi Shankara, Ramakrishna Advaita Ashrama, Kalady, celebrated the event in a befitting manner on 6 May 2022.
The day started with morning Arati and meditation. There was a Special Puja, Homa to Sri Sri Thakur followed by Bhog Arati. Shodoshopachara Puja and oblations during Homa to Sri Sankaracharya were done. Cooked prasad was served to the devotees.
In the evening, local people had organized a procession from the Kalady town to the Shankara Janmasthan as usual. A good number of sadhus and approximately 3000 devotees had participated with slogans and Bhajans. When the procession went in front of the Ashrama, sweets and drinking water was distributed to all. Special Arati and songs were performed at the main temple in the evening.
