As part of celebrating the 75th year of Mother India’s Independence i.e. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and 160th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Ramakrishna Mission, Nabadwip, arranged a Youth Convention on 8 May 2022. 108 youths participated in the Youth Convention.
The Convention was presided by Swami Amareshwarananda, Secretary of the Nabadwip centre. After registration, refreshment and tea, the conference started with Vedic Chanting, followed by an opening song. The youths participated in the opening song, delivered short speeches on different aspects of thoughts and work of Swamiji and other Sages of India.
Prof. Dr. Siharan Chakraborty, President of Nabadwip centre, spoke about how Swamiji inspired the whole nation in the movement of independence and specially mentioned the huge impact of Mahatma Gandhi and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
Sri Sabyasachi Mondal, Vice-President of the Nabadwip centre, addressed the youth with great zeal and drew their attention to the great examples of struggles and success of people around us.
Swami Amareshwarananda advised the youths to practice the teachings of Swami Vivekananda in daily life.
Certificates of participation were issued to all the delegates of the Youth Convention. At the end they took Prasad and left the venue with new hope and enthusiasm.
