As part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrita Mahotsav’ and 125 years of Ramakrishna Mission, our centre at Jhargram, planted 1565 trees at schools and colleges in six blocks of the Jhargram district, in July – August 2023.
A small meeting was organised at all the venues and the students were enlightened on the necessity of tree plantation, preservation of the environment and ecosystem.
The project includes fencing and regular maintenance of the trees for two years and is supported by Lexmark India Ltd as part of their CSR activities.
Last year, the Jhargram centre planted 12000 trees at various places in the Jhargram district.
