I. ITI Students’ Participation
The Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Pvt. ITI-Asansol commemorated Swami Vivekananda’s historic Chicago lecture with a week-long celebration from September 1st to 11th, 2024. One hundred students from various trades participated in a series of competitions, including seat and draw competitions, essay writing, recitation, and reading of Swamiji’s historic speech. The most outstanding performers were selected for the final day’s stage presentation, which was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Sri Dipak Sarkar, a former school teacher, delivered a brief speech highlighting Swami Vivekananda’s profound impact and enduring relevance. Swami Bharupananda discussed the significance of the day and Swamiji’s message to the youth. The chief guest, Sri Jiban Bandopadhyay, provided valuable insights into Swamiji’s mission, vision, and the behind-the-scenes story of his victory at the Chicago World Parliament of Religions. Br. Kaushik emphasized Swamiji’s teachings and inspired the audience to embrace his ideals.
II. High School Students’ Participation
On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, our school students staged a drama titled “Alok Dishari Netaji” (A Beacon of Light: Netaji), based on the life and teachings of Subhas Chandra Bose. The drama was directed by Theatre Shine, Dankuni, and featured 57 selected students who participated in a theatrical workshop training program from August 25th to September 11th, 2024.
The performance was held in two sessions in our Sri Ramakrishna Auditorium: one for the students in the afternoon and another for devotees and guardians in the evening.
