Ramakrishna Math, Madurai, hosted a Values Education Programme for the students of TVS School, Madurai, on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Math’s school premises. The programme aimed to instill moral and spiritual values through various interactive and inspiring sessions.
- Participants: 124 students from TVS School.
- Duration: The programme began at 10:00 AM and concluded in the afternoon following lunch.
- Preparation: Light refreshments and tea were provided to the students before the formal start of the sessions.
Programme Schedule and Activities
The day’s schedule was designed to be engaging and spiritually enriching:
- Inauguration: Lighting of the Lamp, followed by Vedic Chanting and Bhajans.
- Instruction & Inspiration: A Benedictory speech was delivered, followed by the chanting of 10 shlokas from the 14th Chapter of the Bhagavad Gita (Daivasura sampad vibhaga yoga).
- Interactive Sessions: Students participated in Yoga and Games, fostering physical and mental well-being.
- Audio-Visual: A short film on the life of Swami Vivekananda was screened, offering inspiration through his ideals.
- Performance: After the Lunch Break at 12:30 PM, students of the Ramakrishna Math school staged a short skit on Tenali Rama.
- Conclusion: The programme wrapped up with Feedback from the visiting students and teachers of TVS School, followed by a Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem.
Gift and Outcome
To encourage continuous learning and spiritual growth, all participating students were presented with a copy of the book “Swami Vivekananda for All” in Tamil. The retreat successfully provided a valuable blend of spiritual practice, learning, and cultural engagement.
