On November 29, 2025, the auspicious birth anniversary (Subha Janmatithi) of Swami Premanandaji Maharaj, the newly constructed Ma Sarada Dham building was formally inaugurated at Ramakrishna Math, Baghbazar, Kolkata. The solemn and spiritually uplifting ceremony was performed by the Most Revered Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, President of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission.
The foundation stone for this annex multipurpose G+5 building was originally laid on May 6, 2022 (Sri Shankara Panchami Tithi) by the Most Revered Swami Smarananandaji Maharaj, the then President of the Order.
Distinguished Presence and Public Meeting
The inauguration was held in the august presence of Swami Suviranandaji Maharaj, General Secretary of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission. The event was also graced by political dignitaries, including Smt. Dr. Shashi Panja (Cabinet Minister for Commerce & Industries and Women & Child Development, Govt. of West Bengal) and Janab Firhad Hakim (Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge of Urban Development & Municipal Affairs and Mayor of Kolkata).
Following the inauguration, a public meeting was held at Saradananda Hall, where inspiring addresses were delivered by the Most Revered President Maharaj and the General Secretary Maharaj. Swami Nityamuktananda, the Adhyaksha of Ramakrishna Math, Baghbazar, delivered the welcome address, detailing the chronological development of Mother’s House, leading up to the new construction.
Purpose of Ma Sarada Dham and Related Events
Ma Sarada Dham, the new G+5 annex building of Mother’s House, has been designed to significantly strengthen the residential, spiritual, and service activities of the Math. It now houses essential facilities, including a modern kitchen, store, dining halls for devotees and monks, monks’ quarters, and a dedicated hall for spiritual initiation.
On this significant occasion, the Most Revered President Maharaj and General Secretary Maharaj formally released two new publications: Premananda Jivancharit and Swami Premananda Patrasamgraha. The celebrations also included a Sadhu Bhandara, in which approximately 380 sadhus from various Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission centres participated. The following day, the Most Revered President Maharaj imparted spiritual initiation to 76 young candidates.
