A magnificent Youth Convention was arranged on 14th August 2022 by the Ramakrishna Math, Gourhati as the second phase of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
Prior to this programme one youth convention was organized on 12th January 2022 for the first phase and another youth convention was organized on 11th June 2022 in the Math premises. Besides, a cultural competition on six categories was held in the Math premises on 23rd and 24th July, 2022 in which about 140 youths participated. 28 candidates in music, 11 candidates in essay, 13 candidates in elocution, 22 candidates in recitation, 34 candidates in painting and 34 candidates in quiz contest took part in this competition.
For the programme on 14 August 2022, Gourhati Haradas Institution was selected as the venue. About 200 youths and 50 teachers & guardians were present. The hall was beautifully decorated with the pictures & messages of Swami Vivekananda. The programme was started at 10 am with Vedic Chanting. Swami Pranaramananda, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Gourhati, gave the warm welcome address. This was followed by recitation, speech, song and yoga by the youths. Prizes (Books & Photos) and certificates were given to the first, second and third position holders. Swami Snehamayananda of Swami Vivekananda’s Ancestral House, Kolkata, presided over the convention. The chief guest was Sandip Kumar Sinha, the headmaster of Jamaibati High School and the special guest was Amiya Kumar Chakraborty, convenor of Bhaba Prachar Parisad, Unit – 2, North 24 Parganas.
All the participants were given tiffin and noon prasad.
