Inauguration of Agamananda Memorial Outdoor Stage, Kalady

Ramakrishna Advaita Ashrama, Kalady


On 15th August 2022, Sri Ramakrishna Advaita Ashrama Kalady, on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, celebrating the 75 years of India’s independence, and 125 years of Ramakrishna Mission, the Agamananda Memorial open stage in Brahmanandodayam School was inaugurated.

The programme started with the ceremonial flag hosted by Swami Srividyananda, Adhyaksha, Kalady centre, in the presence of the assembled public, school children, and NCC cadets. Revered Swami Swaprabhananda hosted the national flag in the Vivekananda computer and typewriting center.

Then everyone proceeded to the newly constructed Agamananda Stage. Swami Agamananda is the founder of Kalady ashrama and a leading social reformer in Kerala. This year marks Swami Agamanandaji’s 125th birth anniversary. On this occasion, the newly constructed open stage in the school is named as Agamananda Memorial.

Revered Swami Swaprabhananda ji Maharaj inaugurated the stage, and on that stage itself Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav public meeting was held. The Honorable Kerala High court Judge Justice Devan Ramachandran inaugurated the public meeting by lighting a lamp. Revered Swami Swaprabhananda ji gave the benedictory address and Swami Srividyananda gave the presidential address. Padmasree M. K. Kunjol Mash, Dr. V. P. Gangadharan was among the chief guests. All the speakers emphasized the great sacrifices made by our ancestors and the importance of true patriotism in our day-to-day life and how we can practice it.

Both Revered Swami Swaprabhanandaji and Padmasree Kunjol Mash were students of Swami Agamananda. Their reunion and reminiscences about Swami Agamananda and Ramakrishna Mission made the program a heart-touching one.

On the newly inaugurated stage, the Brahmanandodayam School children performed various programs related to freedom fighting. There were dramas, skits, dances, tabloids, and patriotic songs. “Vishwabhanu Vivekananda “a professional dance program on the life and mission of swami Vivekananda was also staged. Near about 2000 people attended the whole function and everyone was fed with noon Prasad.
