Ramakrishna Advaita Ashrama, Kalady celebrated the National Youth Day, culminating in a vibrant and engaging event on January 12, 2024. The celebration spanned several days, featuring a range of competitions designed for both inter-school and inter-college students.
Celebration Highlights:
Colourful Procession:
The concluding day witnessed a colourful procession that meandered through the town of Kalady, featuring enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, devotees, and the general public. Over 1000 people joined the procession, creating a lively atmosphere.
Inaugural Meeting:
Following the procession, an assembly took place in the Agamananda Open Auditorium at BHSS, Kalady. The gathering included a diverse audience of dignitaries, youth, students, parents, and the general public, all assembled to commemorate the birth anniversary of the revered Swami Vivekananda.
Program Commencement:
The event commenced with an invocation prayer led by Smt. Sangeetha S. Babu, the Music Teacher at BHSS Kalady. Sri Jayakumar K, Headmaster of Brahmanandodayam High School, extended a warm welcome to the august gathering.
Presidential Address:
Swami Srividyananda, Adhyaksha of Ramakrishna Advaita Ashram, delivered a thought-provoking presidential address. He underscored the significance of character-building education and urged everyone to view the world as one universal family, embodying the principle of ‘VASUDAIVA KUDUMBAKAM.’
Inaugural Speech:
Justice A.V.R. Pillai, Former Judge of the High Court of Kerala, inaugurated the function. He imparted valuable advice to the students, emphasizing self-reliance, personal responsibility, and the realization that they are the architects of their own destiny.
Benedictory Address:
Revered Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj, Vice President of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, delivered a benedictory address. He highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s profound impact on education, mentioning the recognition he received at Madras Presidency College and his subsequent historic address in Chicago.
Felicitation of Guests and students:
Sri Sanjay Nediyara, Founder and CEO at Start Global, was felicitated by Srimat Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj during the function. Prizes for various inter-school and inter-college competitions were distributed, recognizing and appreciating the talents of the participating students.
Book Relaunch:
Srimat Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj re-launched “Veeravani”, the complete works (four volumes of books) of Revered Swami Agamanandaji, Founder of Sri Ramakrishna Advaita Ashram, Kalady. This event symbolized the continuation of the ashram’s commitment to preserving and sharing spiritual wisdom.
