Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Hatamuniguda, in collaboration with the CBSE Centre of Excellence, Bhubaneswar, organized a day-long workshop on Storytelling as Pedagogy on August 25, 2024. The event was held at the Vivekananda Hall.
The workshop, conducted by Shri Anil Kumar Patnaik and Dr G Vinod Kumar, aimed to explore the role of storytelling in enhancing teaching and learning experiences. The resource persons employed various specially designed modules to facilitate this exploration.
Swami Gitatmananda, Secretary of the Ashrama, inaugurated the workshop with a lamp-lighting ceremony accompanied by Vedic chanting. In his address, he discussed the significance of storytelling, drawing examples from ancient Indian texts like the Panchatantra, Ramayana, Mahabharata, and the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna.
Shri Ranganath Banerjee, Principal of the Ashrama and venue director, welcomed the delegates and provided an overview of the workshop’s objectives.
A total of 61 teachers from 7 schools participated in the capacity-building program. The workshop provided valuable insights and tools for educators to incorporate storytelling into their classrooms, fostering a more engaging and effective learning environment.
