Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Salem, conducted a significant Deepavali charitable initiative in October 2025, distributing new clothes, sweets, and essential items to 328 needy beneficiaries across Salem and Dharmapuri districts. The focused relief effort targeted vulnerable groups, including Leprosy Cured but Deformed Persons (LCDPs), inmates of three Government Leprosy Homes, and 200 poor tribal families in Manjakuttai Village, Yercaud Hills. The aid package included major garments like 252 sarees, 269 dhotis, and 69 shirts, supplemented by 328 sweet packets and sets of essential toiletries (oil, soap, toothbrush, and paste). Additionally, the Leprosy Homes at Thalaivasal and Selliampatty received specialized support in the form of medical supplies (ointments, bandages) and necessary grocery items for their Diwali cooking.
