National Youth Day 2024 : Port Blair


Ramakrishna Mission, Port Blair observed the 40th National Youth Day on 12th January 2024 in collaboration with the Sports and Education department of the Administration of Andaman and Nicobar Islands in a befitting manner. A grand colourful procession with Swamiji statue and framed pictures in a tableau, banners with Swamiji’s inspiring sayings, flags, quotations, chorus songs and drums was organised. Students, teachers, professors of eight schools and two colleges, devotees, officers and staff of the local Administration took part in the procession.

The procession started from Netaji Stadium, Port Blair at 7.00 a.m. and ended at the Vivekananda Statue at Jawaharlal Nehru Rajakiya Maha Vidyalaya premises. About 700 participants were present in the procession.

After the procession, a meeting on the National Youth Day was held with the offering of Pushpa Argha, Dhoops and Arati to Swamiji Statue. Smt. Pallavi Sarkar, IAS, Secretary to LG and Secretary of the Dept. of Education, Administration of Andaman and Nicobar Islands was the Chief Guest.

Finally everyone had been provided with refreshments from the end of the Andaman Administration. Chocolates, fruittis, oranges and drinking water were provided by Ramakrishna Mission, Port Blair.

A discourse on Swamiji messages to the youth was held after Sandhya Aratrikam in the Ashrama. The ashrama served Khichuri Prasad and Jilebi sweets to the devotees after the programme. Near about 75 devotees took Prasad in the evening program at the Ashrama.
