125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic speeches at Chicago Parliament of Religions was celebrated at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Tirupati.
As a prelude essay and elocution competitions for 8th, 9th and 10th standard students were conducted on 8 September 2018. 352 students from 13 schools in and around Tirupati participated in the competitions.
An essay competition and symposium on “The Importance and Impact of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Addresses” for Under Graduate and Post Graduate students was organized on 11 September. 230 students from 11 colleges in and around Tirupati participated in the Symposium and 25 students spoke on the occasion.
A public meeting was organized on 11 September. Sri P.S. Pradyumna, IAS, Chittoor District Collector, Sri V. Vijaya Rama Raju, IAS, Commissioner, Tirupati Municipal Corporation, Prof. Y. Haribabu, Vice Chancellor, SV Veterinary University, Tirupati, Sri K. S. Vasu, Advocate, Tirupati participated as Guest Speakers. Prizes were handed over to the winners of different competitions.
