Concluding Programme: Celebrations of 125th Anniversary of Ramakrishna Mission, at Viveknagar, Agartala


On the occasion of the commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of the Ramakrishna Mission, a year-long celebration was arranged by Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Viveknagar (Agartala). 

On 17 September 2023,  the Concluding Programme was held at the premises of the centre. Swami Suvirananda ji, General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, presided over the function, which was attended by 800 devotees. Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura, was the Chief Guest. 

Swami Suvirananda ji inaugurated the 680 sq. ft. Mural Painting on the theme viz. “Impact of Spirituality on the Indian Freedom Movement” at the Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya in collaboration with the Lalit Kala Academy.

He also inaugurated the ‘Vishwakarma Bakery Unit’ at the I.T.I. Complex. The Inverter LED Lamp, which is a Trainees’ Product from the ITI, was inducted on this occasion.

On 19th September 2023, Swami Suvirananda ji inaugurated the ‘Chandramani Bhawan’, the newly constructed Monks’ Quarters. Revered Maharaj also inaugurated the following: 

  • The well- equipped Pathology Laboratory at the ‘Niramay’ Medical Centre; 
  • The renovated Office setup for the Proctors at the Vidyalaya Building;
  • The Office setup at the City Centre on the Gangail Road, Agartala;

Revered Maharaj released the 4th edition of a Title viz. “Geeti Manjusha” a publication of the Viveknagar Centre.

On 20th September 2023, Swami Suvirananda ji laid the Foundation Stone for construction of an Archway ‘Toran Dwar’ at the main entrance of the Viveknagar campus to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Ramakrishna Mission, in presence of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Tripura.

During the entire trip, Revered General Secretary Maharaj was officially declared as well as treated as the ‘State Guest’ by the Govt. of Tripura.
