The two-day 47th State-Level Farmer’s Fair concluded on 27 February 2026 at the Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra farm in Getalsud. Sponsored by the Directorate of Rapeseed-Mustard Research (Bharatpur) and organized in collaboration with ICAR-ATARI (Patna), NABARD (Ranchi), the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI), the event successfully brought together approximately 11,000 farmers.+2
Closing Ceremony Highlights
- Chief Guest: The closing ceremony was graced by Smt. Deepmala Ghosh, CGM of NABARD, who provided detailed insights into water conservation and various agricultural schemes supported by the organization.
- Expert Guidance: Scientists from the KVK and representatives from IFFCO conducted technical sessions, providing on-the-spot solutions to farmers’ queries.
- Sustainable Farming: Swami Bhaveshanand, Secretary of the Ashrama, emphasized the importance of organic farming and soil health, calling for a “Developed India by 2047” built on healthy soil, healthy crops, and a healthy society.
Exhibitions and Recognition
- Technical Stalls: The fair hosted 250 stalls that provided valuable technical knowledge to visiting farmers.
- Awards: A total of 54 awards were distributed for excellence in crops, flowers, and vegetables, alongside 22 awards for animal husbandry and 12 consolation prizes for cottage industries.
- Best Farmer Award: Shri Shivdhan from Nawagarh village was honored as the “Best Farmer” for his scientific approach to lac cultivation.
- Equipment Distribution: Under the Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) scheme, 586 hand-operated sprayers, sponsored by the Directorate of Rapeseed-Mustard Research, were distributed to farmers from various districts.
Conclusion
The event concluded with a strong emphasis on integrating modern agricultural technology with traditional resource management. The success of the fair was supported by 54 volunteers from the Vivekananda Seva Sangh, Anagada, and was attended by several local dignitaries, including heads of various Panchayats and district council members.
