Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi

The 47th Central Sri Ramakrishna Farmer’s Fair (State-Level) was formally inaugurated on 26 February 2026 at the farm premises in Getalsud. The event was arranged by Ramakrishna Mission Divyayan Krishi Vijnan Kendra, Morabadi, Ranchi, which drew approximately 10,000 attendees, focused on sustainable agricultural practices and empowering the local farming community.

Inaugural Proceedings

The fair was inaugurated through the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by a panel of distinguished guests, including:

  • Smt. Deepika Singh Pandey: Honorable Minister of Rural Development, Government of Jharkhand (Chief Guest).
  • Shri Gopal Ji Tiwari: Joint Secretary (Agriculture).
  • Swami Bhaveshanand Ji: Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama.
  • Representatives from the Osham Dairy and other esteemed officials.

Key Highlights and Objectives

  • Technical Guidance: Prior to the inauguration, a “Farmer’s Seminar” was conducted by scientists from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) and faculty members from the Ramakrishna Mission. The session provided technical solutions to various challenges faced by farmers.
  • Mission Impact: Chief Guest Smt. Deepika Singh Pandey lauded the Ashrama for its efforts in creating “Model Tribal Panchayats” and for its impactful work in the agricultural sector of Ranchi district.
  • Strategic Vision: Swami Bhaveshanand Ji emphasized the Mission’s 19-year commitment to training farmers and promoting organic farming as a means to reduce costs and increase income.
  • Expert Contributions: Experts from ICAR-ATARI Zone IV, Patna, and the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) provided insights into climate-resilient farming and advanced agricultural techniques.

Awards and Distribution

  • Recognition: Shri Jagdish Mahto was honored as the “Best Farmer” for his outstanding work in agriculture. The “Best Self-Help Group” (SHG) award was presented to the YSS VSS group.
  • Support Initiatives: Sponsored by the Indian Institute of Mustard Research, Bharatpur (Rajasthan), the Mission announced the upcoming distribution of 586 sprayers to tribal beneficiaries.

Participation

The fair saw the registration of 473 agricultural and cottage industry models. The success of the event was largely attributed to the support of 65 volunteers from the Vivekananda Seva Sangh in the Anagada region.
