Blood Donation Camp, Dhaka, June 2018

Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, organized a Blood Donation Service Program at Ramakrishna Mission Medical Service Center, Dhaka on 9 June, 2018 with the assistance of Red Crescent Blood Centre, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, Mohammedpur, Dhaka. Swami Dhruveshananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka inaugurated the Program. A total number of 23 units (bag) of blood (450ml of blood in each bag), were collected from 23 Donors. Monastic members of Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, also donated blood. Each of the donors was awarded a ‘Donor Card’ featured by blood group & relevant particulars of the donor, and a few gift items on behalf of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society. Beverage and snacks were served to the donors. Esteemed dailies of Bangladesh covered the news of Blood Donation Program.

As rate of blood donation among the people reduces due to religious restriction during Holy Ramadan, there develops a shortage of blood for the patients in different hospitals across the country. With an aim of filling the blood deficit in the health care services, Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, arranges special Blood Donation Program every year during the holy month of Ramadan.
