Buttermilk was distributed to wayfarers at the entrance of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Salem, from 1st to 31st May, 2026, as a measure of relief amidst the prevailing summer heat.
A total of 4,040 litres of buttermilk was served to 11,777 wayfarers during the course of the month, the distribution being undertaken daily at the Ashrama’s entrance to provide solace and refreshment to travellers passing through.
