Child Welfare Initiatives: Varanasi Home of Service, January and February 2026

Ramakrishna Mission Home of Service, Varanasi

In January and February 2026, the Vivek Sanjivani unit of the Ramakrishna Mission Home of Service, Varanasi, implemented a comprehensive child welfare drive across the villages of the Mirzapur and Azamgarh districts. This initiative provided essential support to children in underserved communities, focusing on nutrition, education, and hygiene.

Distributions in Lalganj, Azamgarh

The drive in Lalganj Village supported 49 children in January and 48 children in February.

  • Nutritional Support: High-protein and nutrient-dense items were provided, including 88 kg of Daliya, 25 kg of Gram, 50 kg of Flattened Rice, 100 liters of Milk, and 72 kg of Dry Fruits. Supplemental items such as Horlicks and biscuit packets were also included.
  • Educational and Hygiene Supplies: The children received copies (Hindi, English, and Math), pencils, erasers, chart papers, and “New Vision” number books. Hygiene kits consisting of toothpaste and soaps were also distributed.

Distributions in Rampur, Mirzapur

Support was extended to 45 children in Rampur Village during both months.

  • Nutritional Support: The distribution included 63 kg of Daliya, 20 kg of Gram, 37.5 kg of Flattened Rice, 60 liters of Milk, and 37.5 kg of Dry Fruits, alongside sweets and 84 biscuit packets.
  • Educational and Hygiene Supplies: Essential items such as pencils, number books, and soaps were provided to aid their daily health and schooling needs.

Summary of Impact

The program reached 94 children in January and 93 children in February. By addressing the immediate needs of hunger and hygiene while providing tools for learning, the Vivek Sanjivani initiative continues to foster long-term development and health resilience among the youth in these rural districts.
