In the wake of lockdown owing to COVID-19 pandemic Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Sohra (Cherrapunjee) has started relief services.
The centre distributed 3,74,575 kg rice and 74,915 kg dal among 14,983 families at their homes in East Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Hills, South West Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, North Garo Hills, West Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills districts in Meghalaya, and Dhubri district in Assam from 26 March to 12 April. The centre distributed 18,018 face masks, essential medicines to 852 patients and is transporting patients from villages to health centres from 25 March to 14 March.
