COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Services By Ramakrishna Mission, Coimbatore

Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, is continuing relief to the distressed people affected by the lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.

On 21 April 2020 :
  • The ashrama served 1035 food packets in various places of Periyanaickenpalayam, Veerapandi, Govanur, Thirumaloor, Naickenpalayam villages,  and Kamarajapuram.
  • Distributed  2285 kg rice, 1371 kg dal, 457 liters oil, and other groceries 982.55kg among 457 families in Velampalayam-Tiruppur, Athupalayam-Tiruppur,KSN palayam, Anupparpalayam, Semmani Chettipalayam, Kurukkampalayam, Oraikkapalayam, Kurumpapalayam, Masagandan Chellipalayam, Arugampalayam, Senthampalayam, Ponnehandampudur, Kottaipalayam.

Cooked Food Distribution:

The ashrama served 18942 plates of cooked food in various places of Periyanaickenpalayam, Veerapandi, Govanur, Thirumaloor, Jothipuram, Pudupudur, Ranganathapuram Samichettipalayam, Govanur Pudur, Chinna Devyampalayam, Avvai Nagar, Kamarajapuram and Naickenpalayam Villages from 31 March to 21 April 2020.

The beneficiaries are nomadics, roadside dwellers, migrants, Adi-Dravida colony, tribal community, and old people.

Dry Ration Kit Distribution:

The center distributed 23725 kg rice, 12246 dal, 300 biscuits, 3901 liters oil, 2478 kg suji, and other groceries 9300.7 kg among 4444 families in Perumpathi, Peerkamapathi, Peerkamapathi Pudur, Kunjoorpathi, Mankuli, Pasumani, Pasumani Pudur, Palamalai village, Bharati Nagar, Athipalayam village, Ukkappatti, Mottiyur, Ukkaiyanur, Poolapathi, Melbaviyur, Kuzhiyur, Senguttaiyur, Rayaroothupatti, Nandhini Colony, Pattisalai, Kalani Pudur, Alangandi, Alangandi Pudur, Gopanri, Tirupur-Anuparpalayam, Tirupur-Athupalaua, Vadavalli-Mullai nagar matthasalai, Kunnathur – SS Kulam block, Vaiyampalayam – SS Kulam block, Forest department contract labours (Tribal), Aranattukadu, Kalkaadu, Thuvaipathy, Vadakalur, KK nagar, Seenkuli, Thekkaloor, Koottupulikaadu, Chinna Jambungandi, Periya Jambungandi, Selvapuram Adi Dravidar colony, Bharathi nagar selvapuram, Vattaparai selvapuram, Thirumalainaickenpalayam, Melpathi, Kelpathi, Mangarai, Sembukarai, Dhumanur, Panapalli, Kandivazhi, Arakkadavu, Veerapandi, Transgender, Keeranatham pudhur, RS thottam, Thudiyalur, Mullai nagar, Vadavalli, Differnetly abled, Periyanaickenpalayam, Kunjapanai, Mandharai, Thudhikarai, Sundapatti, Vellarikombai, Koovakarai, Melkoopu, Keelkoopu, Govindanaickenpalayam, Periyar Nagar, Kannakumar thottam – Kanuvai, Panner Selavm Thottam, TTS thottam- Kanuvai, Anna Nagar-Maruthamali, Velampalayam-Tiruppur, Athupalayam-Tiruppur,KSN palayam, Anupparpalayam, Semmani Chettipalayam, Kurukkampalayam, Oraikkapalayam, Kurumpapalayam, Masagandan Chellipalayam, Arugampalayam, Senthampalayam, Ponnehandampudur, Kottaipalayam and Chandrayapuram from 31 March 2020 to 21 April 2020.



On 7 April 2020, served 925 food packets  Periyanaickenpalayam, Veerapandi, Govanur, Thirumaloor, Naickenpalayam villages, and Kamarajapuram and distributed 1190 kg rice, 816 kg dal, 272 litres oil, 544 kg suji, and other groceries 720.8 kg among 272 families in Nandhini Colony and Chandrayapuram.



On 6 April 2020, the Ashrama served 810 food packets in various places of Periyanaickenpalayam, Veerapandi, Govanur, Thirumaloor, Naickenpalayam villages, Avvai Nagar and Naickenpalayam Villages and distributed 180 kg rice, 108 kg dal, 36 litres oil, 72 kg suji, and other groceries 97.02 kg among 36 families in Rayaroothupatti.



On 5 April 2020, the Ashrama served 787 food packets in various places of Periyanaickenpalayam, Veerapandi, Govanur, Thirumaloor, Naickenpalayam villages, Avvai Nagar and Naickenpalayam Villages and distributed 3010 kg rice, 903 kg dal, 301 litres oil, 602 kg suji, and other groceries 1112.19 kg among 301 families in seven tribal villages (Ukkappatti, Mottiyur, Ukkaiyanur, Poolapathi, Melbaviyur, Kuzhiyur, Senguttaiyur).



On 4 April 2020, the Ashrama Served 738 food packets in various places of Periyanaickenpalayam, Veerapandi, Govanur, Thirumaloor and Naickenpalayam Villages and distributed 894 kg dal, 298 litres oil, 596 kg suji, and other groceries 1101.11 kg among 298 families in Athipalayam village.



The Ashrama served 2174 plates of cooked food in various places of Periyanaickenpalayam, Veerapandi, Govanur, Thirumaloor and Naickenpalayam Villages from 31 March to 03 April 2020 beneficiaries are Nomadics, Roadside dwellers, Migrants, Adi-Dravida Colony, Tribal Community, Aged and old people.



On 2 April 2020, the ashrama has distributed 650 food packets in various places of Periyanaickenpalayam, Veerapandi, Govanur, Thirumaloor and Naickenpalayam Villages to the following beneficiaries:

On 1 April 2020 the ashrama distributed 1500kg of rice and 300kg of Dal (per family 5kg rice and 1kg dal) to 300 families of Bharathi Nagar and Amman Nagar, which are 7 kms away from the ashrama.

The ashrama also distributed food packets to 560 migrant workers, roadside dwellers, nomadics, tribal and aged people, in various places of Periyanaickenpalayam, Veerapandi, Govanur, Thirumaloor and Naickenpalayam villages .



In the wake of lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, has started relief services to the affected families in rural areas.

  • On 31 March 2020, the ashrama distributed non-cooked food item packets (consists of 5 kg rice and 1 kg dal) to 215 families in 8 tribal villages, which are around 25 kms away from Coimbatore. The vilages served by the ashrama are Perumpathi, Peerkamapathi, Peerkamapathi Pudur, Kunjoorpathi, Mankuli, Pasumani, Pasumani Pudur and Palamalai.
  • The ashrama also distributed 250 food packets to roadside dwellers, migrants from other districts of  TamilNadu and northern India at Veerapandi and Periyanaickenpalayam Town Panchayats.
  • The ashrama served 70 food packets to aged and poor people of Adi-Dravida Colony at Govanur village of Guludar Panchayats.
