Discourses on Srimad Bhagavatam : Raipur, January 2024


Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Ashrama in Raipur hosted a week-long exploration of the Srimad Bhagavatam, a revered Hindu scripture, from January 26th to February 1st, 2023. This event, part of the ashrama’s annual function, drew an average of 150 attendees each evening, eager to delve into the wisdom of the text.

The renowned Pandit Shri Akhileshji Shastri from Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, graced the occasion as the speaker. In his captivating discourses, titled “Venu Geet ke madhyam se Srikrishna Leela,” delivered in Hindi every evening from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, Panditji explored the “Leela” or divine plays of Lord Krishna through the enchanting verses of the Bhagavatam.

Panditji emphasized the universal right to spiritual attainment, urging the audience to cultivate devotion to God and harmonious relationships within the community. He highlighted the importance of meditation, self-study, and seeking the company of good people for leading a spiritual life, qualities he emphasized are embodied within the teachings of the Srimad Bhagavatam.

The audience was enthralled by Panditji’s insightful explanations, finding themselves transported to the playful childhood pastimes of Lord Krishna. The discourses served as a source of inspiration and reflection, leaving a lasting impact on all who participated.
