Under the aegis of the Swami Vivekananda Social Service (SVSS) wing, Ramakrishna Mission, Batticaloa, Sri Lanka, a sub-centre of the Colombo, Sri Lanka centre, undertook a distribution of exercise books among students of fourteen schools across the Batticaloa region during the month of June 2026.
The distribution was conducted in four phases — on the 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd of June — covering schools located in the Ampilanthurai, Padaiyandavely, Kovilkulam, Mavilangathurai, Valkaddu, Kachchakkodi, Navaretnarajah, Viduthikkal, Mavadimunmary, Karayakkanthivu, Kuluvinamadu, Punitha Annammal, Puthur, and Valaiyeravu areas.
A total of 1,157 students benefited from the initiative, receiving 4,437 exercise books in all, comprising 1,418 books of the 160-page (single-line) variety, 459 books of the 160-page (square) variety, 1,880 books of the 200-page (single-line) variety, and 680 books of the 200-page (square) variety.

The initiative, undertaken in keeping with the educational welfare activities of the Ramakrishna Mission, sought to ease the burden of stationery expenses for students belonging to economically disadvantaged families and to encourage continuity in their studies.
