Ramakrishna Mission, Chengalpattu, on behalf of Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, conducted free eye care initiatives in December 2025 to provide vision screening, spectacles, and cataract surgeries for underserved communities in Chengalpattu and Kancheepuram districts.
1. Free Eye Camp at Vellaputhur, Chengalpattu – 2 December 2025
- Patients screened: 61 (16 men, 45 women)
- Free spectacles distributed: 15 patients
- Patients admitted for cataract surgery in Chennai: 6 patients
2. Free Eye Camp at Sri Sarada Math, Salur, Kancheepuram – 21 December 2025
- Patients screened: 90 (25 men, 65 women)
- Free spectacles distributed: 40 patients (15 men, 25 women)
- Patients admitted for cataract surgery in Chennai: 11 patients (3 men, 8 women)
These eye camps provided critical eye care services to underserved populations, addressing visual impairments through screenings, free spectacles, and necessary surgical interventions.
