In a collaborative effort to provide essential ophthalmic care to rural communities, Ramakrishna Mission, Chengalpattu, organized a comprehensive Free Eye Camp at Nallamur (Keezhakaranai) on 22 February 2026. The initiative was graciously sponsored by Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, ensuring that high-quality screening and surgical interventions were accessible at no cost to the beneficiaries.

Clinical Outcomes and Assistance
Following thorough examinations by the medical team, the following interventions were facilitated:
- Surgical Referrals: 11 patients were identified with advanced cataracts and subsequently admitted to a specialized eye hospital in Chennai for surgery.
- Vision Correction: 27 patients received free spectacles to correct refractive errors and improve their daily quality of life.
Conclusion
This outreach program successfully addressed both immediate vision correction needs and critical surgical requirements for the residents of the Chengalpattu district, embodying the Mission’s spirit of selfless service.
