Fire Relief at Ramakrishna Mission, Digboi
On 6 October 2026, a fire reportedly broke out due to a short circuit near Golai-I, Ganesh Para village, Digboi, causing extensive damage to two houses. Upon receiving information about the incident on 7 October, Ramakrishna Mission, Digboi, visited the affected families and assessed their losses. Both houses had been completely gutted, leaving the families in need of immediate assistance. The affected families subsequently submitted applications seeking relief.
In response, the Mission organised a fire-relief distribution on 8 October 2026, providing the two families with essential groceries, clothing, bedding, household utensils, toiletries and other necessities. These supplies were intended to help them meet their immediate needs and resume their daily lives. The total expenditure incurred for the relief work was ₹18,360.
