Ramakrishna Mission Students' Home, Chennai

Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai, started primary relief to people affected due to incessant rain and flood in Chennai and other districts.

The centre has distributed food packets and bread packets to needy people in the following areas in Chennai and Thiruvallur Districts:

13-11-2021: 981 food packets and 1000 packets of bread to affected families in Thattankulam and KM Garden areas in Choolai in North Chennai (Chennai Dt). Cooked food was served to 117 persons in Vivekanandapuram in Thathamanji and 300 persons including children in Ramakrishnapuram in Poovalambedu, both in Thiruvallur District.

14-11-2021: 1045 food packets to affected families in Maraathamman Koil area, Market and High Road in Pulianthope; Ayyaswamy Cottage slum in Egmore (all in Chennai Dt.).


As many parts of Chennai and its suburbs got heavy rainfall from 8 to 11 November 2021, and many low-lying areas were under water, Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai, started distributing cooked food and breads in North and South Chennai where people could not go to work /outside of their houses because of waterlogging.

 11-11-2021: The centre distributed 900 food packets to affected families in slum area near Central station, R K Nagar in Korukkupettai, Puliyanthoppu, Vyasarbadi market area, and slums in Mylapore. 400 packets of bread in Kathivakkam, Ramamurthy Nagar, and Thilagar Nagar areas in Ennore.

12-11-2021: The centre distributed 900 food packets to affected families in slum area near Central station, R K Nagar and Annanagar in Korukkupettai, Puliyanthoppu, Vyasarbadi market area, and slums in Mylapore. 1113 packets of bread in Kargilnagar, Ernavur, and SC colony in Annai Sivagami Nagar areas in Ennore; RK Nagar in Korukkupettai; Semmancheri and Kannagi Nagar in south Chennai suburb; and Thattamanji village near Minjur town.
