Flood Relief: Guwahati, August 2026

Ramakrishna Mission, Guwahati

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Guwahati conducted two phases of flood relief operations in August 2026 in response to the severe flooding that affected several villages across Charaideo and Sivasagar Districts of Assam. Essential relief materials were distributed among hundreds of flood-affected families in the identified localities, addressing urgent needs for sanitation, hygiene, clothing, and household utility.

Phase I — 1 August 2026

In the first phase, relief was extended to the flood-affected residents of Vill. Solapathar Gormurh Gaon (Charaideo District) and Khona Tea Garden (Sivasagar District). Essential materials were distributed among 360 flood-affected families.

Phase II — 14 August 2026

In the second phase, relief operations were extended to Khatopathar, Hatimoriah Gaon, Gadadhar Nagar, and Hatikhuli — all within Sivasagar District. Crockery items, bed sheets, and sanitation materials were distributed among 325 flood-affected families across the four localities.

In addition to the above, 75 Light Blankets and 75 Mosquito Nets were distributed exclusively among the 75 families of Hatikhuli village.

Across both phases, the relief operations collectively reached 685 flood-affected families, providing critical support in the immediate aftermath of the flooding.
