Flood Relief Services in Manipur – 2015 (Photos)

Heavy rainfall in a major portion of Manipur led to unprecedented floods in the Thoubal district, affecting hundreds of families. The nascent Ramakrishna Mission centre in Imphal started its first relief work in the state by conducting a survey in the affected areas on 7th August. After conducting extensive survey in the district, our team identified nearly 1500 families for distribution of dry food materials, blankets, etc. Moreover, the need of providing medical assistance was also felt.

Likewise, medical camp was organized on 8th and 11th August with 12 doctors and 15 paramedical staffs. The camp was able to provide medical assistance to about 1550 flood affected patients.

Moreover, rice, dal, salt and edible oil was distributed among 1515 affected families belonging to Nungoo, Tangjeng Kunjao, Khongyam and Wangoo villages of Thoubal District on 12th and 13th August. Detailed reports are awaited.
