Healthcare Services to Aged Women: Kalyani, March 2024

In a unique and impactful way, Ramakrishna Mission Kalyani celebrated the 189th birth anniversary of Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna Deva by organising a special “Dwipakshik Matri Puja” (4-Weekly Mother Worship) on Sunday, March 17th, 2024. This heartwarming event provided comprehensive care and support to over 150 elderly and underprivileged mothers from the community.

A team of 9 dedicated doctors, including general practitioners and specialists like ophthalmologists, offered comprehensive healthcare services.

All mothers received a thorough general health checkup, including blood pressure and blood sugar level monitoring.

Eye specialists conducted detailed examinations, assessing eye power and diagnosing cataracts. Those needing spectacles will receive them, and arrangements have been made for cataract surgery for 42 patients in collaboration with an eye foundation.

Over 15 women volunteers and 10 girl scouts provided valuable assistance throughout the camp. Prescribed medications will be distributed to the beneficiaries within a few days.

A delicious cooked lunch was served to all the mothers, their companions, and the volunteers. Additionally, each beneficiary received essential supplies, including rice, lentils, potatoes, soybeans, spices, cooking oil, and a sari. This distribution aimed to address their daily needs and alleviate their hardships.
