During the month of June 2026, Ramakrishna Math, Thanjavur, undertook a series of humanitarian service activities for the welfare of the underprivileged and distressed in its area of operation.
On June 14, 2026, a food distribution programme was organised under the auspices of the Math, wherein wholesome meals were provided to 200 differently-abled persons, at a total expenditure of ₹20,000. The initiative was carried out in keeping with the Math’s continued commitment to seva, in accordance with the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda.
On June 20, 2026, the Math undertook the renovation of the residence of Sri Natarajan at Ranipet. The roof of his house had remained incomplete for the preceding year owing to his straitened financial circumstances. The renovation was completed at a cost of ₹35,650, enabling Sri Natarajan and his family to reside in a safe and secure dwelling.
Subsequently, on June 26, 2026, the Math renovated the unsafe dwelling of Smt. Uma Maheswari, a resident of Pranthai village near the Vivekananda Empowerment Centre, who resides with her two grown daughters. This renovation was carried out at a cost of ₹1 lakh, providing the family with a secure and habitable home.
These activities, undertaken collectively at a total expenditure of approximately ₹1,55,650, reflect the Math’s sustained endeavour towards humanitarian welfare and rural upliftment in the Thanjavur region.
