Inauguration of Building and Installation of Swamiji’s Statue: Gangail, Agartala, January 2026

The Ramakrishna Mission at Gangail Road, Agartala, marked a significant milestone on January 16, 2026, with the inauguration of a new facility and the ceremonial installation of a statue of Swami Vivekananda.


Inauguration of Vireshawarananda Bhawan

The newly constructed Vireshawarananda Bhawan, which houses the students’ hostel, a modern kitchen, and a dining hall, was formally inaugurated by Swami Suvirananda ji Maharaj, General Secretary of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission. The building is designed to enhance the residential and nutritional facilities for students under the Mission’s care.


Installation and Unveiling of Swami Vivekananda’s Statue

The installation of a statue of Swami Vivekananda was also performed on the same day. The statue was unveiled by Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura. The ceremony took place in the august presence of:

  • Swami Suvirananda ji Maharaj, General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission.
  • Sri Dipak Majumdar, Hon’ble Mayor, Agartala Municipal Corporation.

Public Meeting

Following the unveiling, a public meeting was convened to commemorate the occasion.

  • Presided by: Swami Suvirananda ji Maharaj.
  • Chief Guest: Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura.
  • Guest of Honour: Sri Dipak Majumder, Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala.

The event was a grand success, attended by approximately 1,300 devotees and well-wishers who gathered to witness this historic chapter for the Agartala center.
