The newly refurbished induction-based community kitchen, named “Maa Annapurna Bhandar,” was inaugurated on 23rd March 2026 at 12:00 noon at the Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan, Kolkata. The kitchen department was formally opened by Revered Srimat Swami Divyanandaji Maharaj, Vice President of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, in the presence of Swami Bodhasarananda ji, Assistant General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math.

The transition to this modern facility was made possible through the financial assistance of the Sancheti Foundation. The event was attended by Sri Ajay Sancheti, former Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), and Sri Sanjiv Kumar Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Copper Limited, along with other representatives of the foundation.

This technological upgrade marks a significant shift toward sustainability. The kitchen has been equipped with modern, energy-efficient induction-based technology, making the entire operation pollution-free. This replaces the previous traditional system which relied on LPG, diesel/kerosene ovens, and furnaces using coal-dust cakes, ensuring a cleaner and more efficient environment for community meal preparation.
