Inauguration of Sarada Mandir at Narendrapur, 16 Sep 2018

Ramakrishna Mission Residential College (Autonomous), Narendrapur has lived a historical moment on Sunday, 16 September 2018 through the inauguration of its Annex Building named ‘Sarada Mandir’. The Foundation stone of the “Sarada Mandir” was laid on 3 February, 2015 and inaugurated on 16 September, 2018 by Most Revered President Maharaj Srimat Swami Smaranananda ji, in the august presence of the Swami Suvirananda ji (General Secretary), Swami Sarvalokananda ji (Secretary, Narendrapur Ashrama) and hundreds of other monastic members, staff members, students, guests and well wishers. It was shortly followed by the inauguration of the Library Complex and the College Auditorium by Swami Suvirananda ji (General Secretary) and the inauguration of the Research Block by Shri Ramu Sitaram Deora, Proprietor, G. Amphray Laboratories, Mumbai.

The Sarada Mandir (80,000 sq. feet approx.) is equipped with advanced research centre and laboratories, smart classrooms, integrated library and reading room, technologically enriched auditorium for 875 people and a very unique Meditation Room. The College-Annex also houses the office of the Controller of the Examinations among other administrative offices.

This massive project of around Rs. 15.5 crore was facilitated by the generous sponsorship of the Higher Education Department of the Govt. of West Bengal; Shri Ramu Sitaram Deora of G. Amphray Laboratories, Mumbai; Shri Satyen Das et al. The inaugural ceremony at the newly furnished auditorium comprised of musical performance by Shri Rupak Midya accompanied by Sri Arup Kumar Biswas; benediction by Revered President Maharaj, speeches by Swami Sarvalokananda ji, Swami Suvirananda ji and Shri Ramu Sitaram Deora. This inaugural ceremony was followed by an auspicious ‘Sadhu Bhandara’ in the afternoon where more than 350 monks congregated to grace the occasion which was followed by a special dinner in the evening for the students, staff & members of the college and hostel.
