On 9 August 2025, the Lusaka Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre, in collaboration with HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light), a South Korean NGO, organized an Interfaith Peace Fair in the Multi-Functional Hall of the Centre.
The programme aimed at fostering unity, understanding, and harmony among various religious communities while also raising awareness on child abuse and human rights. About 500 members of the Zambian community participated, including representatives of Christianity, Islam, Brahma Kumaris, Sikhism, and ISKCON. Notably, 300 students from local schools and colleges took part, reflecting the strong interest of youth in interfaith dialogue and peace-building.
Highlights of the event included religious booths displaying the beliefs, cultural practices, and peace messages of various traditions, and interactive sessions where speakers from diverse faiths shared their perspectives on peace, coexistence, and spiritual unity.
The Interfaith Peace Fair proved to be a meaningful step towards nurturing inclusivity and interreligious harmony. The active involvement of youth emphasized the importance of educating the next generation with values of peace, unity, and mutual respect.mp made a meaningful contribution to community health by addressing common illnesses and increasing awareness about diabetes and eye care. The active participation of local residents and the support from partnering hospitals made the event a significant success.
