The 12th International Yoga Day was observed at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Hatamuniguda, on 21st June, 2026. The programme commenced with the chanting of Vedic verses by the students, lending a sacred tone to the proceedings.
Swami Maheshatmananda of Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Bhubaneswar, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest, spoke on the manifold benefits of Yoga and encouraged the students to incorporate its practice into their daily lives. Sri Ranganath Banerjee, Principal, and Shri Pratul Sahoo, Assistant Teacher, also addressed the gathering.
Programme Highlights
- Following the Common Yoga Protocol, students and faculty members presented a Mass P.T. display
- An impressive demonstration of yogic postures was showcased
- A pyramid formation and Surya Namaskar were performed
- The proceedings reflected the spirit and objectives of International Yoga Day
Evening Programme
In the evening, a special lecture on “Essential Values for Students” was delivered by Swami Maheshatmananda at Vivekananda Hall. This was followed by the screening of two documentaries, History of Yoga in India and Yoga: Aligning to the Source.
Swami Prabhuvarananda welcomed and introduced the guests on the occasion.
